at the World-renowned Calgary Stampede as Speckle park steers set an all time record!!!!
• Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Carcass.
• They Placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 7th & 10th.
( 6 out of the top ten were SP's.)
• They marbled an incredible AAA40 average and had dressing percentages up to a phenomenal 73% and averaged an amazing 68%.
• That's 7 out of the last 12 years at the "Stampede" the winning carcass and/or taste & tenderness champions have been Speckle Parks. A feat other breeds could only dream of. Speckle Parks are demonstrating that they are truly leaders in carcass cattle.

Not to be outdone, the Speckle breeders are also starting to show steers here in Australia with great success.

At the Bega show recently the Grand Champion Carcass was a Speckle Park in only the breeds 3rd outing in the country.
• That steer also created a record, scoring an incredible 94 points which is the highest since the inception of the new scoring system.

This was then backed up by another Speckle park steer winning at the Brisbane royal Show (see picture below).
• You can understand why there is huge amount of interest by the commercial breeders with the results the breed is achieving in the show ring and with butts like these you can’t go wrong.

We would like to take this time to welcome you to Almarlea Speckle Park Stud and our website. We trust that our website will introduce you to the new and exciting breed that has hit Australian shores, Speckle Parks. Through our web site we will reveal to you the advantages that the breed Speckle Parks can bring to your cattle business or hobby.
Almarlea is home of one off the largest Speckle Park Studs in Australia and is located between the towns of Bathurst and Oberon in the Central tablelands of New South Wales.
The key reason we have started a Speckle Park cattle stud is straight forward. We realize how tough it is to be profitable year in and year out in this tough country of ours. A cattle breeder needs to have an added advantage, or like we say an ace in the hole, compared to his competitor. We believe that the breed characteristics to the left can be your future ace in the hole.
We have invested in the best semen and flushed some of the best cows that the breed and Canada has to offer. This enables us to offer progeny that will show off the best Characteristics of the breed here in Australia.
We offer elite ET pregnancies and calves that are second to none. If you are looking for a future herd sire for cross breeding, starting your own herd or want show cattle please give us a call. Speckle Park Characteristics
• SPECKLE PARK is a medium sized polled breed that provides a carcass that has a high dressing out percentage.
• SPECKLE PARK has established a reputation in Canada for high quality carcasses with marbling but without a thick layer of outer fat cover. Speckle park cattle took top honours at the Calgary Stampede Steer Carcass Competition in 2006 . With a total of 43 entries from various breeds, a Speckle Park Carcass took top spot, with Speckle Park taking 3 of the top 4 placings. The breed has also won the “All Breed Steak Challenge” and the “Beef Quality Award” previously.
• SPECKLE PARK cattle calve easily and almost all Speckle Park cows and heifers calve unassisted. Calves are approximately 30-40 KGs at birth. Most newborns are up and sucking in minutes. Speckle Park calves are vigorous growers from birth.
• SPECKLE PARK cows are very maternal when it comes to caring for their young. They have good udders which provides ample supply of rich thick milk.
• SPECKLE PARK has a gentle and quiet disposition which makes them a pleasure to work with or halter train.
• SPECKLE PARK are hardy and healthy can withstand the harshest of cold winters and the heat of summer.
